NNEC is now accepting applications for Youth Tour
Northern Neck Electric Cooperative is now accepting applications for the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association’s 2024 Youth Tour program, which will take place June 17-21 in Washington, D.C.
WHAT IS YOUTH TOUR?
Youth Tour is an exclusive leadership experience taking place in Washington, D.C., which includes meeting congressmen and senators, visiting the U.S. Capitol Visitor’s Center and the Capitol building, local memorials and museums, and other historic sites.
In previous years, students have attended Nationals’ baseball games and visited the Kennedy Center and the Pentagon. In addition, selected students will meet over 1,800 other co-op member students from across the country. The selected students can also gain exclusive leadership training and opportunities that build connections and skills that assist in their future career paths.
Participating in the Youth Tour is an awesome way to learn about this great nation, develop leadership skills, gain a better understanding of electric cooperatives, and make friendships that will last beyond the week!
NNEC will pay all expenses related to the travel and the experience, and will send a delegation of up to four students. Over the last few decades, NNEC has supported over 60 students to participate in the transformative experience.
